Updates are in the works to enhance the website and update the iOS app to full functionality. A recent server configuration change may have interrupted requests from some users but we are now fully back online.
Over the past few months I've debated shutting down this project, there are only a small handful of subscribers and it's made only ~$75 to date. However, I've noticed web traffic is growing and I still feel this could be a valuable (if niche) tool for the aviation community. The more people use ATIS Relay, the more timely ATIS can be provided for more airports. It also serves as a cache, netting fewer phone calls, ensuring we are reducing congestion of airport ATIS phone lines rather than increasing the likelihood a pilot gets a busy tone.
For the reasons above I've decided to keep the app going and I've submitted a new version of the app and made several enhancements to the website.
I'm currently looking for beta users to help test ATIS Relay! If you're interested or have any feedback, shoot me a message: ford@flyownnav.com.
ATIS Relay is a passion project that doesn't cover its own server bill (yet).
Want to help cover the costs and fund future improvements? You can buy me a coffee or better yet subscribe on iOS to request ATIS at the press of a button.
Not ready to subscribe? Downloading the app and leaving a good review will go a long way to growing the service and keeping it running. Every bit helps.
Thanks for flying with ATIS Relay.
